Learning to Trust God’s Timing
Read: Isaiah 40:12-31
Israel endured 70 years of exile, a long season that challenged their faith as they waited for deliverance. To encourage them, Isaiah pointed to God’s unmatched power, wisdom, and constant presence. But when waiting drags on, hope can feel distant. “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God… He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable” (Isaiah 40:28). Times of waiting help us learn to trust God fully with our lives. The arrival of Jesus proves that God’s timing is always perfect. Jesus didn’t just rescue Israel—He brought salvation to the world, offering freedom from sin and a close relationship with God to anyone who seeks Him.
Choose to wait on the Lord and resist the urge to rush. The message of Christmas reminds us that God’s promises are beyond what we can imagine, fulfilling hopes that are deeper than our own understanding (1 Corinthians 2:9). His timing and plan are always worth the wait.
TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:
> How do you respond when things don’t go as planned?
> What do Isaiah’s words reveal about God’s power
to transform circumstances?
> How has waiting helped you grow in your faith?
