A Reason to Be Generous This Christmas
Read: Isaiah 61:1-9, Luke 4:18-21

“He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come” (Isaiah 61:2).

Jesus came to proclaim good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, and set captives free. Now, as His followers, we carry on that work. Our giving—whether time, resources, or encouragement—is a response to His love. We are blessed to be a blessing.

God’s favor is His delight and approval, given to us not by our actions but through Jesus’ sacrifice, making us children of God. With an eternal covenant established in Christ, the time of the Lord’s favor is now!

We may not have everything, but we have enough to participate in Jesus’ mission. Look for opportunities to serve and uplift others. As we do, people witness God’s love, and His goodness spreads.

TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:

> What’s one way you can share generously with those in need?
> How can you encourage someone who’s struggling?
> Is there something God might restore through your
  willingness to serve?
