The Unexpected Miracle
Read: Isaiah 53:1-6, John 3:16-17, John 20:31

When rescue doesn’t come as we envisioned, it can be unsettling. God often works in ways we’d never expect. Jesus fulfilled every prophecy about the Messiah, yet His life defied what people thought a Savior would be.

Israel longed for a powerful king to bring deliverance. But their Messiah was different. As Isaiah wrote, “He had no form or majesty that we should look at him… He was despised and rejected… a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief”(Isaiah 53:2-3). This Savior would be pierced, crushed, and wounded for His people (Isaiah 53:5).

Jesus didn’t conquer with power but sacrificed His life so we could gain eternal life. Sometimes, the miracles we seek don’t come in the way we expect, but “what God has prepared… is greater than we can imagine” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Whether you need healing, provision, or guidance, remember that God’s faithfulness may unfold in surprising ways.

TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:
> Do miracles usually happen in ways we expect?
> How have suffering and uncertainty amplified God’s glory?
> What miracles are you hoping for this Christmas?
