Jesus is a Different Kind of King
Read: Isaiah 11:1-10
We all know what it’s like to have a boss—some are fair, others are difficult. But Isaiah describes a King like no other.
“There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse… And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him: the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord” (Isaiah 11:1-2). Imagine a leader who is always wise, patient, and kind—a ruler who truly cares for His people and keeps His promises. What if following this authority brought more peace than we ever thought possible?
Isaiah’s prophecy reveals a King who would bring justice with righteousness, not favoritism. This King, Jesus, would invite people to follow Him through love rather than fear. When Jesus returns, “For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:9).
TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:
> How does Isaiah’s vision of this King remind you of Jesus?
> How might your relationship with Jesus deepen
if you remember He is both Savior and King?
