Is God Really with Me?

Read: Isaiah 7:10-14, Matthew 1:23

In this season, reminders of Jesus’ birth are everywhere—in songs, nativity scenes, and family traditions. But how often do we wake up with the assurance that God is with us? Jesus is called “Immanuel” because He is, truly, “God with us.” It’s one thing to know this; it’s another to experience it daily. Jesus promised He would never leave us.  “… the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).

God is with us
> we are never separated from His love (Romans 8:38-39).
> we can fulfill His purpose for us (Philippians 2:13).
> so we need not live in fear or anxiety (Philippians 4:4-7).

He is with you through the heartaches and the joys of Christmas, through the details and the quiet moments. This Christmas, let God’s presence lead you to love, give, and live with confidence. He is, indeed, Immanuel.

TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:

> When is it easy to believe God is with you?
> When is it difficult?
> What would change in your life if you sensed
  God’s presence more fully?
