Christmas Means Peace
Read: Micah 5:1-5, John 14:27
The holiday season often brings pressure—gifts, parties, traditions. Though it’s known as the season of joy, it can feel anything but peaceful. We sing about peace, but rush from one thing to the next. What if this year, we could experience a different kind of Christmas?
“But you, O Bethlehem… from you shall come forth… one who is to be ruler in Israel” (Micah 5:2). Micah prophesied a shepherd-king from Bethlehem who would bring peace. This promise isn’t just for Israel; it’s for us, too. We can experience Christ’s peace in this season, inviting Him into our plans and prayers.
Isaiah reminds us, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you” (Isaiah 26:3). Paul writes, “Do not be anxious… the peace of God… will guard your hearts” (Philippians 4:6-7). And Jesus promises, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you” (John 14:27). Christ is our source of true peace, so let’s turn to Him this season. Ask Him to shape how you celebrate, and let His peace fill your heart.
TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:
> What can you thank Jesus for today?
> Are you feeling stressed? Take a moment to ask God
how He wants you to celebrate this year.
