Is the Easy Thing the Right Thing?
Read: Matthew 1:18-25
When Joseph decided to quietly end his engagement with Mary, an angel appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:20-21).
Doing what’s right isn’t always easy, and doing what’s easy isn’t always right. Following God may lead us to make decisions that others won’t understand. When we seek God’s direction, He sometimes confirms our thoughts, but other times, as with Joseph, He guides us in ways we never considered possible.
Isaiah reminds us, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways” (Isaiah 55:9). God’s wisdom often surpasses our own understanding, calling us to trust Him in hard choices.
TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:
> How do you approach difficult decisions?
> Are there choices before you now that require deeper faith?
Spend time in prayer, asking God for His guidance.
