We Can Trust Him with the Impossible
Read: Luke 1:26-38
Impossible situations aren’t common, but when they arise, they test our faith. When Gabriel brought Mary the incredible news, we see how she responded to the impossible with trust.
“For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).
Mary’s first reaction was an honest question: “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” Pregnancy without conception seemed as impossible then as now. Beyond the physical miracle, Mary risked judgment and loss. Despite her fears, Mary didn’t react with doubt or cynicism. Instead, she responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be to me as you have said.” Her confidence rested in God, not in having all the answers. She trusted that her God could do anything.
As we face our own impossible situations, we can bring honest questions to God and hold fast to faith over fear. This Christmas, may we lift our eyes to Him, remembering that nothing is beyond His power.
TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK:
> What impossible situation are you facing?
> Are you responding with faith or doubt?
> What would it mean to trust God to do the impossible?
